I've spent the last two weeks away from the computer, gardening, crocheting and sewing.
The new pumpkin plants are having a little trouble adjusting to their new home and may need to be moved. The plants that are well are doing fabulously. The things doing poorly seem to be a little... well... eaten.
So, when something is eating your plants the best solution is to locate something that will eat your plant destroying bugs. Bring on the carnivores!!
Admittedly it was a little scary releasing a swarm of any kind of bugs into my back yard.
We sat on a bench near the raised beds after shaking the mesh bag containing 1,750 ladybugs into an area way too small for that number of bugs and watched the little guys settle in.
I thought that when I got home from work tonight they would have all "flown away home" but there they were, tucked into the sage and rosemary. As soon as dusk started to approach they started to swarm over the plants, looking for dinner.
We should be pest free in no time.
